Biography
Valentin Couanon Bertin (b. 1997) is a French artist working across drawing, video, and digital images. His practice explores a form of magical realism shaped by travel, including a hitchhiking journey across Europe in 2017 and later stays in Japan and South Korea.
His work builds fragmented, non-linear narratives where personal memory, esoteric symbols, and digital artifacts collide. Blending drawing with video and experimental editing, he creates unstable visual worlds inhabited by shifting figures and signs. Influenced by video games, ancient crafts, and internet culture, his work reflects a search for meaning within a saturated and constantly evolving image landscape.
